Day 4: Cable Guy

Day 4.
As you arrive, you see the change ticket on your screen.

On the east side of the floor, the six desks are fully set up, each jack cabled directly to the network room. None of them have been connected to the switch yet.

Sarah hands you the paperwork: "Your change. You cable it, you configure it, you prove it. I review after."

In the corridor, Dave watches you carry a spool of cable: "They gave you a ladder now? We had chairs at the helpdesk."

The six PCs were delivered yesterday and plugged in at the desks. You patch the six cables into the SW-3F-ACC1 switch and sit down at the console.

The change ticket gives the port behind each jack:

Lab Instructions

• Bring Gi1/0/25 to Gi1/0/30 up, in VLAN 10, with portfast

• Add a description on each port: 3F-E01 to 3F-E06

• The six PCs are already at the desks. From one of them, ask an address and ping the gateway 10.20.10.1

• Save the configuration

Finish the lab, then type the flag below.

Sarah reviews your change at the end of the day.

"Six ports, six names. Next time you do not need to call me."

The six desks are in use on Monday morning.

Tomorrow, floor 3 goes out of service, and you'll need to figure out why.
