Start Pathway
A student celebrates her success in earning her CCNA certification after completing the CCNA pathway.

Description

The CCNA pathway covers all the topics included in the CCNA 200-301 certification, so you’ll be fully prepared to pass the exam and achieve your goals! The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is a great way to show off the skills of network administrators! It’s a globally recognized certification, and it’s the most widely recognized IT certification there is!

Cisco gives us access to the CCNA exam topics blueprint. This document describes all the concepts you need to master before taking and passing the certification exam. You can find the CCNA blueprint here: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/ccna-exam-topics.

Overview

  • Network Fundamentals: In this section of the CCNA pathway, you’ll learn how a network works, what equipment is used (like routers and switches), how devices communicate with each other, how IP addresses are assigned, and what terms like IPv4, IPv6, or even « subnetting » mean. It’s the foundation of everything.
  • Network Access: You will learn how to organize a network so that data travels correctly. We’ll examine network segmentation using VLANs, connections between devices, and port security fundamentals. We will also discuss Wi-Fi, including how it works, how devices connect to it, and how to control network access.
  • IP Connectivity: The heart of communication is how data travels from point A to point B, and you will learn how routers make decisions, how they are told where to send data, and how a protocol like OSPF helps them choose the best path. This is what makes the internet possible.
  • IP Services: This section will teach you about the everyday services used by networks: how devices get IP addresses automatically, how site names (like google.com) are translated into IP addresses, how time is kept synchronized across the network, and how equipment is monitored.
  • Security Fundamentals: Security is essential today. You will learn about the main risks, such as hacking, and the basic protections that can be implemented. These include creating strong passwords, managing access, and securing network connections. We will also discuss secure Wi-Fi and encryption basics.
  • Automation and Programmability: Finally, you’re about to enter the modern world of networking automation. Rather than doing everything by hand, we now use tools and scripts to save time. You’ll learn the key concepts of this new approach to network management, with straightforward explanations of tools, APIs, and an introduction to artificial intelligence.

Prerequisites
